Turning the Page | A Gentle Shift at Leaf Lane Studio
Over the past year, I’ve found myself thinking a lot about Leaf Lane Studio and about what the future holds, not just what I make and/or sell, but how and why I make it and sell it.
Creativity has always lived very deeply within me. It’s in my bones, in the way I notice the world, in the quiet moments that catch my attention, like pretty light patterns, dew on spider webs, how leaves adapt and change with each season, the stillness before a storm and interesting shadows at certain times of the day. That part of me hasn’t gone anywhere, and it never will. But I did feel like it got a little lost, and losing my dad / going through grief, has helped me realise that and reflect on what is important to me.
Like many small businesses, Leaf Lane Studio has grown and changed over time. Somewhere along the way, I began creating with urgency rather than curiosity; feeling the pressure to release products, fill gaps, and keep up. What once felt joyful started to feel heavy.
After a lot of reflection, I realised that in order for the business to remain something I love, and something that feels sustainable, I need to simplify.
This moment isn’t about stepping away from creativity. It’s about returning to it.
I want to allow myself more time to paint, to write, to explore ideas without immediately asking what they need to become. Some things will remain personal. Others will slowly settle into cards or prints, ready to be shared more widely. Letting art lead the business, rather than the other way around, feels like the most honest way forward.
As part of this shift, I’ll be focusing more intentionally on cards and art prints, alongside a smaller, more curated stationery offering. To make space for that next chapter, I’ll be holding a big studio reset sale - a conscious clear-out of older stationery designs that no longer fit where Leaf Lane Studio is heading.
This isn’t an ending. It’s a turning (because nothing stays the same right?!).
If you’ve followed me for a while, you won’t be losing anything really, just noticing a gentle change. The heart of what I do remains the same: thoughtful, nature-inspired pieces made with care and intention.
Thank you for being here, for supporting my work, and for allowing me the space to grow and evolve. I’m looking forward to this next chapter: quieter, lighter, and more true to the person I am now becoming.
