12 DAYS OF STATIONERY | THE ADVENT CALENDAR OF YOUR DREAMS IS HERE!
About a year and a half ago, whilst chatting to some business buddies, I made a flippant comment about wanting to create a stationery advent calendar ‘some day’. I was met with such a positive reaction and was surprised by the amount of people that seemed keen to buy something like that from me! It seemed like such a distant goal for so many reasons: I would need to design all new items that weren’t in my shop, I would need to pay a lot up front to get 12 pieces of stationery created and without knowing how many people would ultimately buy! Scary stuff for a one-woman business owner who is still finding her feet. But I knew I could do it and, do you know what? I did!
One of the things I am most proud of in my business is how you, my lovely customer, experiences the Leaf Lane Studio brand from start to finish. I love telling a story or taking you through a journey, which is why I take so much care to wrap things a certain way and hand-letter and illustrate your parcels. It is so important to me that you know I think of you as a person, not ‘just a customer’. Producing something like this calendar allows me to create even more hands-on finishing touches, and make your whole experience even more unique, which is why you will find lots of lovely extra details when your calendar arrives!
In my humble opinion you can’t beat the feeling of magic that the run up to Christmas time brings. There is a special something in the air on those crisp, chilly mornings when you wake up early, make a hot cup of tea, click on the fairy lights and welcome a new day. Dark mornings peppered with the warmth of Christmas lights and the left over smell of wood-smoke in the air outside is something that is super nostalgic for me and always gives me those festive butterflies in my stomach!
Because many of us struggle with those dark days of winter, I think it is lovely to cheer them up with new little routines, which is what my husband and I did last December. We both unknowingly bought each other advent calendars, and it became a routine, before the working day, to make some tea and open our advents! It was something we both looked forward to every single day and was just a lovely thing to do. So, whilst I had already had the stationery advent idea, the joy of those mornings really cemented the project for me, and so the calendar was born!
I created it with so much thought, and want to bring you heaps joy and make you smile for the days you open it (and hopefully the whole time you are using what you get too!). When you open your calendar you will be met with a special note from me, as well as some suggested opening dates to follow along with.
Because it is a 12 day calendar I thought I would pop some dates inside, just in case you wanted to share the journey on Instagram with other calendar owners! As hard as it will be not to just rip the whole thing open, I think it will be so lovely to wait and spread out the joy but that, of course, is totally your decision!
All of the stationery pieces have been carefully thought about in the design process, so that you have some things that go together (hello there mini collection!) and will work really well at keeping you organised, whilst others are more stand alone pieces. I am somewhat reluctant to reveal the individual products here, because 99% of you said you would rather not know, but if you are a curious cat you can find everything included in the advent calendar right here (do you really want to know?!).
