Leaf Lane Studio’s designs are inspired by my deep-rooted love of nature and everything that it represents. Since childhood I have carried the weight of how we treat plants, animals, our oceans and forests, heavy on my shoulders and naturally, now that I am a business owner, I feel a growing responsibility to do my very best for our beautiful planet.
Whilst I do acknowledge that I haven’t perfected everything (yet) and that this has to remain a constantly evolving ‘work in progress’, I am proud of what I have in place so far…
SUPPLIERS & MANUFACTURERS
I ensure that all the companies I choose to print my stationery with use paper stock that is FSC* certified. This is a guarantee that the paper you see in my notebooks, to-do lists and planners is responsibly sourced and eco-friendly.
The vast majority of my stationery pieces are printed on super high quality, no bleed-through paper, making for a luxurious writing experience. I am proud that all new pieces coming into my studio are printed on recycled paper too!
*FSC stands for 'Forest Stewardship Council'. They are super dedicated to promoting responsible forestry and being all-round tree-warriors!
reusing & RE-PURPOSING
Occasionally, a delivery will arrive to the studio that contains bubble wrap or a large amount of wasteful packaging. When this occurs I save it back to reuse or re-purpose where I can. So, on the rare occasion a customer receives something bubble-wrapped, that will be a recycled sheet from a delivery that I have received first. Otherwise any protective packaging that I use is recyclable and/or biodegradable.

In 2019 I made the switch from generic (plastic) cello bags to compostable / biodegradable alternatives made from vegetable starch. I am currently researching ways of reducing the amount of these used too, to prevent unnecessary waste at the point of delivery, and have started wrapping large items, such as my notebooks, with recycled tissue paper instead.
All product labels that are produced in-house are printed on recycled sticker paper, and all of my postage boxes can be re-used or recycled too.
We are all human, and part of the human experience is to be continuously learning about ourselves and our planet. We won’t always get it right, but as long as we try our best to always do our best, I believe that is a truly great start.
MY PROMISE TO YOU is that I will always strive to improve the sustainability of Leaf Lane Studio and continue to work with like-minded manufacturers and suppliers who care about our planet as much as I do, whilst educating myself on new and upcoming ways of improving processes within my business, like packaging and disposing of waste from the day to day running of the business.
I believe that small things add up to making big changes and I think it is important to remember that, if we all try our best to make little shifts in how we live, that our planet will be healthier for it.
